Troopers in Maryland will begin enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal truck parking along I-83 beginning Friday. Truckers parked on the shoulder for non-emergency reasons will be cited. Cops say the dangerous practice has increased in recent years. The Northeast feels increasing pressure for truck parking as traffic increases and driving hours have decreased. There have been some minor efforts to expand rest areas elsewhere in the state.
