Thousands of truckers, due to ill-defined border-crossing problems, are stuck on the King Fahad Causeway that separates Saudi Arabia from Bahrain--some for nearly a week. Truckers swelter in the heat, share dwindling water and food supplies, and defecate after dark near the road. Their situation is a repeat of a similar ordeal in October 2011. A border crossing between Saudi Arabia and the UAE also appears to have periodic problems. Many of the truckers are foreign workers from places like Nepal and the Philippines.
