Trucker gets 8 years in prison in bulldozer mishap

Missouri trucker Adam Steinmann, 27, was sentenced to eight years in prison in a case where the bulldozer he was hauling on a flatbed trailer broke loose from its chains and killed two women. He was found guilty in August of two counts of vehicular homicide. Steinman's license was under suspension at the time of the accident.

Lawsuit filed against #truckers, employers in family deaths #truckers

A chain-reaction accident on I-80 in Nebraska in September that caused the deaths of four family members has resulted in a wrongful-death lawsuit being filed in U.S. District Court in Lincoln against two truckers ard their carriers. One trucker was also killed in the accident, two others involved still face criminal charges, and one of these remains jailed in lieu of $1 million bond. A preliminary hearing in the criminal cases suggest the jailed trucker -- Josef Slezak, 36, of River Grove, Ill-- was in violation of HOS rules.

Laramie residents receive free meat after truck pileup on I-80 #trucking

Officials in Wyoming distributed free bacon and sausage to residents following an accident on Interstate 80 involving eight semi tractor-trailers. No injuries were reported, but traffic stretching four miles was halted for five hours. One of the trucks involved was hauling 30,000 lbs. of the meat which would have spoiled.

Semi truck fire shuts down I-74: "SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A semi truck fire has caused lane closures on I-74 Thursday afternoon. Indiana State Police say the semi was fully engulfed in fire at the 105 mile marker in Shelby County just past the London Road exit. All lanes on I-74 were closed after the accident. Police have confirmed that the driver of that semi was killed."

Trucker guilty in bulldozer tragedy

Missouri trucker Adam Steinmann was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter Friday in a case where the bulldozer he was hauling on a flatbed trailer broke loose from its chains killing two women. A jury decided that 27-year-old trucker, whose license was under suspension at the time of the accident, failed to properly secure the bulldozer and was driving too fast for conditions.
