According to the complaint, Creel Brothers Inc. purchased four dump trailers from Globe Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. between November and December 2010. While attempting to dump a load on Jan. 5, 2011 one of the trailer's rear hinge point pivot pin rod's broke causing the trailer and tractor both to overturn.
Creel Brothers states a design defect in the manufacturing caused the incident. The company filed suit against Globe Trailer on Feb. 7, 2011 in Washington Parish District Court and the defendant removed the case to federal court in New Orleans on March 3.
