U.S. Xpress celebrates founding, announces hiring, ramps up PR

CHATTANOOGA, TN -- U.S. Xpress Enterprises, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday, and announced 300 additional administrative jobs in the coming months. A partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project -- a nonprofit assisting disabled war veterans -- also was announced.

U.S. Xpress began operations in 1986 with 48 trucks, grew to a fleet of over 8,000 trucks, and is now recognized as the second largest privately owned truckload carrier in the United States.

The company expects to hire nearly 600 new drivers and support personnel above the replacement level in the upcoming year and next.

The company will make a $25,000 donation to the Wounded Warrior Project and will assist it in a $50,000 advertising campaign to boost driver recruitment.
