Trucking company must pay legal fees after losing lawsuit against New Hampshire DOT

BRENTWOOD, NH -- Fidele-Tremblay, a Canadian trucking company, sued the state of New Hampshire for $2.5 million, alleging a lack of road treatment along Interstate 93 after a snowstorm led to a fatal crash that killed a Derry, NH boy in February, 2007.

The trucking company paid a $2.5 million settlement to the boy's mother in response to a federal lawsuit, then sued the state for the same amount.

The jury cleared the state DOT of any wrongdoing after a week-long trial in May. The trucking company
has been ordered to pay the state roughly $13,000 for legal expenses.
