Florida trucking company ordered to pay whistle-blower

FORT MEYERS, FL--The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has ordered Zurla Trucking of Fort Myers, Fla., to reinstate an employee who was fired after refusing to drive two unsafe trucks. The driver will also receive back wages and punitive damages.

OSHA enforces federal laws which protect employees from working with unsafe equipment or in unsafe conditions. "Whistle-blower" protections are found in 18 different Federal statutes.
