An historic covered bridge spanning the St. John's River in Indiana was severely damaged when a trucker drove his rig over it following directions on his GPS device, ignoring the posted clearance of 12'6". Cops arrested the driver for criminal mischief for causing an estimated $100,000 in damage to the structure built in 1873. The town of Spencerville holds an annual festival celebrating the bridge which was restored in 1981.
