"New commercial vehicle registrations (Gross Vehicle Weight 3-8) in the U.S. are set to reach 440,000 units for the 2011 calendar year, an increase of 17.6 percent over 2010 calendar year and a 33 percent uptick from 2009, according to Polk, the recognized leader in data-driven solutions for the commercial vehicle industry. New registrations remain 45.4 percent lower than the historic peak in 2006, when the market boomed to support the impending change in diesel regulations."
