FTR Shippers' Condition Index inches upward

Nashville, IN -- FTR Associates’ Shippers’ Condition Index (SCI) has moved upward again in June, signifying improving conditions for shippers, according to a new press release back-dated to July 18. The current SCI  rose to a reading of -3.6 from a previously reported -5.4.

“The improvement in the SCI must be regarded as a mixed bag in that it is the result of tepid demand from shippers and therefore is a product of the current softness in the economy," according to Larry Gross, Senior Consultant for FTR.
