Trucker praised by firefighters in January crash appealing ticket

STRATFORD, CT -- The trucker praised by first responders for preventing tragedy on Interstate 95 in January -- then fired five days later by employer CR England -- is appealing the ticket she received in superior court.

Nancy Asaro, a 27-year veteran driver, was ticketed for traveling too fast for conditions and fined $127. She told the Connecticut Post: "As long as I have that ticket, I can't get a job in this business, My only option is to fight it."

At the time of the accident, firefighters said Asaro likely saved lives by veering her rig into parked firetrucks at the scene of another accident.
