LAS VEGAS, NV -- Recent talk about banning big rigs from the new O'Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge bypassing Hoover Dam has been deemed unlikely by local officials because the span was built specifically to improve commercial transportation.
The Nevada Department of Transportation plans to request instead that the Federal Highway Administration waive environmental impact study requirements to expedite plans to widen the U.S. Highway 93 approach to the bridge to four lanes.
