Another trucking strike looms in South Africa

"The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (Satawu) said yesterday it will announce its decision tomorrow about the possible nationwide strike by more than 70,000 truck drivers.

They are demanding a 10% wage increase for 2011 and 2012. Workers are also demanding a total ban of labour brokers. 'The deadlock is on and our union structures are meeting today to decide on the date and time of the strike,' said Satawu spokesperson Arbner Ramakgolo."
