Truck restrictions relaxed so farmers can get crops to market

TALLAHASSEE, FL -- An order relaxing trucking restrictions so farmers can more easily transport freeze-vulnerable crops was set to expire on Dec. 31, but it has been extended for seven days.

Farmers need to harvest fruits and vegetables and get them to processing facilities as quickly as possible, so allowing them to put more produce on each truck helps them salvage more.
